First attempt (made it a missile instead of meteor).
Problems with motion tracking. I don't know how to do it properly. The layers were doing all kinds of weird things when I parented them to the null object. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to motion track to multiple nulls. I've only been using AE for a week. Need help. Also, the null was not giving me a Z coordinate to parent to like in this tutorial. Don't know how to fix that. Can anyone help?

Hey Andrew,love your tutorials,I just have a question... The part where you composite the 3d objects... I always get a black background.. like when I batch render... and when I try to get rid of it in AE by keying it out... you can tell that the edges are rough,even after feathering it.. please if you could explain detailed how to render from 3ds max for compositing in AE without black background? hey first of all thanks for the tutorials!!! but when i download the project files, they download fine but they crash my After Effects, i re sized them cuz they were huge but they still crash it? it also "skips" kinda..like the files are corrupted or something.

I'm sure someone else has said this, but the fringe is a result of AE expecting unpremultiplied RGB in the PNG sequence, and you should interpret the footage as premultiplied (since this is how it comes out of 3DS.)

Very cool tutorial and I love the talent you have.

But sometimes it's frustrating when I am going through this tutorial only to find I don't have Trapcode Particular installed. Even more frustrating to see it cost $299.99.

So nice tut, but I, myself can't use it since I don't have the right tools. I like the ones you do that only feature the things that can be done with a stock version of AE CS3.

But you can't control what we have :)

In my Adobe After Effects it didn't have the Effect trapcode and then particular to get the particles, do I need additional software to be able to do this?
