To all you guys that have this problem it´s because you have a version earlyer than the 1.5, update your version, that´s all

Para quienes tienen el problema con DOF es porque no tienen la version 1.5 de trapcode particular, actualicen su version y listo

Twist - I had the same problem myself, I've no idea why this should happen but try setting your time sampling to split clip - loop. This seems to solve the issue. Hope this helps!

Hi!

i just finished this tutorial and made an animation of my own. there is a problem with the particle system:as shown in the tutorial, i mapped a 3d-animation of a cell on the particle system. that worked very well. but there is one problem: the reference-animation of the particle is 200-frames long..it shows the cell spining around itself (once!).after that it has to be looped.but there is the problem: that causes a visible "flicker"-effect wich is visible on every particle after every loop. i dont understand that. i tested the animation of the source 3d-model and its 100% perfect..when its looped! so why does it flicker in the particle system ?? another problem is..that there is an ugly "overlap" effect when a particle crosses another particle in 3d-space..how do i avoid that ?

you can watch my animation here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEWbyiOyiCA

hope someone can help me!

greetings from germany!

wow!!! you're just a fantastic teacher!
You are the reason why I love editing films and animations....

Why don't you have your own biography in wikipedia yet?!?!?

thx for your great tutorials
by Rob Neal 11/02/2007
Great tutorial.

Lennon: You need to export in a format that runs as a file numbered sequence, Andrew uses PNG, I personally prefer RLA, but you can also use TIFF and a few others. The images need to be labelled 000 - xxx and must be imported as an image sequence in AE, also ensure that you also export the alpha channel, or you wont have a background.
by lennon 10/26/2007
My particles aren't moving. They don't play the 3d animation (I use a ".iff" maya file insted of .png, but I don't see how that could be a problem)
What I'm saying is that the particles play always the same photo, and I don't know what I must press to activate them. I thought that it was loop from birth, but it isn't. Any idea?????????????
by Khosoo 10/25/2007
hi. thanks a lot
by Wedmak 10/23/2007

by Surray 10/21/2007
awesome tutorial!

and a little not to seb who posted a comment a little above me:

depth of field is a new effect of particular and is only available in a new version. if the particular verison you are using is too old you'll have only motion preview or full render and not all 4 options. go update.
by Grant 10/20/2007
Dude you have given me a lot of insperation and like to thank you for it
by Born 10/16/2007

Great tut! One question: why is the outcome different when you apply the CC Glass effect on a pre-composed layer than just simply apply it on the layer with the fractal noise?
