TUTORIAL NOTES:
In this 3 Part tutorial, I'll show you how to create the effects where a camera goes inside a persons body; similar to the cool effect seen on House MD tuesdays on FOX :)
Remember, this is a free tutorial and if you prefer to use a different program for the 3D part, feel free. There are many 3D forums that would be happy to help you with your favorite software instead.

i followed the tutorial and everything went fine till i got to the render part. I set up the render setup exactly as shown. when i click the save file and render a render window pops up (like the tutorial) renders one frame or no frames and then closes. What am i doing wrong? There is no file in the folder

They just gave me a 470 pages pdf as getting started with instructions like this: If you have a complex robot just move it on x axis.. -.- But noone tells me how could i make such a simple object just like this hemoglobin

Alright, this tutorial is awesome. I'm going to use this method to medical zoom and transition through an unsuspecting member of the crowd at my year-end show via video toaster.
The way Andrew made the cell model in Max was awesomely simple and efficient. That said, my school uses Lightwave not 3dsMax and I had a lot of difficulty finding any of the same functionality. If you find yourself in the same situation, there's a decent blood cell modeling tutorial at the following location, but you need to register (free) for their forum to download it.

I just saw a local news station KCRA (Sacramento California) use your video (only the health cells portion) verbatim in a news story about how air pollution may be linked to arthritis.

The funny thing is that i found a movie, and when i saw it in the begining it had the same Medical Particles.
The movie was called Cyborg Soldier from 2008 so its very nice, but the movie was ok not the best.

I really love your comments and for me watch your tutorials is better than watch regular television for mainly 2 reasons:
1 - it is much more entretaining and
2 - it is much more usuful.
i've been learning a lot since I started to view these tutorials.
btw, Everytime u talk about Sam, I know that something very funny it is going to comne out.

Wo....now using your tutorials im making a clip where a guys playin basketball and he suddenly has this pain in his arm....and them your md zoom!!

This tutorial was great and very useful. It would be cool if you made a tutorial on how to model and animate a bullet and have the effect of it being fired in slow motion. Like in the matrix for example.

Hey Mate thanks for the great work! I'm found something very weird with CS2 and CS3 and wanted to know if you did something different with your footage. When importing your clips into cs2 they look good but when they are used in CS3 the footage skips frames when moving the time indicator from frame to frame. ALL the settings are the same between the programs. It's even the same comp. Any ideas?

I am working on a Cinema 4D version of this tutorial.

I do not have hosting.
BTW, it's proving tougher b/c Cinema 4D does not have as many or as advanced texturing features.

I only wrote one big tutorial for the psp and iam proud of it, and you got more than 50 now.
I did try 3D Studio Max, but after some time I quit because I couldn't find anything, because there are too many options...
I still have 3D Studio Max installed, so I definitely going to try this out and maybe I start to create things again!

But one question, regarding the rotation of the 3DStudio Max object. Wouldnt it be better to rotate the object 356.4 degrees instead of 360 degrees - so you dont have an object that is stuck on the same frame 2 times - 0 degrees / 360 degrees.

It's beauty. I like it. And I'm want to add some tips for this tutorial:
1. In 3DMax, you can add "Displacement Approx" modifier, to increase details of displacement.
2. For simulation of organic SSS (Sub-Surface Scattering) effect, you can use "Falloff"map(shadow/light algorithm, with dark bloody-red color in white color map, also need to tweak mix curves) in Self-Illumination shader.
3. And of course, Render elements can be usefull to adjust color and speculars in AE.
PS: sorry 4 my english.

WOW! I bought 3D Studio Max for the sole purpose of this tutorial! You should get a kickback from them or something. I'm going at it. I usually just need someone to walk me through a few of the basics and I can figure out the rest, which I've found myself doing on ALL OF MY FREE TIME, which is sparse.

you know, i work for my dad's company on the weekends while at Uni in Scotland, doing all their graphical type stuff, animations etc. He literally yesterday asked me to do him a little animation almost exactly like this and then I checked back here (as I do every day for your awesome tuts) and here this was! you kick ass dude. your time and effort to help us amateurs is greatly appreciated!

The man is making this stuff for free, and to complain about having to see a tut using another application is completely ignorant. Andrew is showing us how to use this stuff in a real world setting, not just for AE.
This stuff is great Andrew, as you have probably heard once or two billion times, just keep it going. Its always a pleasure to get some info from someone such as yourself. Rock on!!!
