I noticed there was question about it further up. *Setting the velocity to a negative value has no effect* Here's why it doesn't work... The reason being that the negative value does not affect the the particles in the way you would expect, instead it's actually the radius of the emitter that is the corner stone of the sucking. When you start playing with the size of the emitter the actual start position increases and so the particle begins outside and has a negative velocity... going inwards.
