Is there a way to get that motion blur effect on a straight video clip? After effects motion blur only seems to affect motion generated by the program, I'd really like the blur effect as motion trails as if a long exposure was used on straight video, is this possible? Motion blur in vegas affects everything for example, but it has the "8-bit" look.

ho Andrew thangs for the tutorial but lets say yu have a shakey
shot and you want to stable that shot how would you do that in after effects??
by Adam 03/25/2008
Michael Nehmad - You would use tracking which Andrew has coincidently covered already using this footage in the After Effects Basic Training on this website.

Another great tutorial, cheers :)

Hi Andrew,
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
I tried my hands on the LA GAP sign Motion track. But my end result is some kind of wired. After I hit "Apply" the "Dark Lime Green Solid" which is suppose to fall exactly on the GAP sign, moves out of position. When I compare the "Corner Pin" and"Position" figures with yours, mine is:
Corner Pin
Upper Left - 556.2, 272.9
Upper Right - 727.5, 257.0
Lower Left - 553.8, 462.4
Lower Right - 721.5, 446.5

Position - 744.0, 794.0 instead of

Corner Pin
Upper Left - 598.0, 316.0
Upper Right - 682.0, 311.0
Lower Left - 597.0, 408.5
Lower Right - 682.0, 405.0

Position - 744324.0, 400.0

What is wrong with my positioning. I've tried several times.
