Error: When i try to export to MPEG2-DVD, an error says: "Could not load any writer. Adobe Media Encoder will now exit."..and then it says: "After Effects error: Writer Initialization Error!".. I dunno what's wrong. pls. help!
by W3r3W0lF 08/11/2009
Do you need AE cs4? or you can do it just with cs3?
by Kyle 08/06/2009
I was just thinking that instead of highlights for the buttons since it can look messy (I understand it's for tutorial purposes) you could get the text tool and use the same font as the button and kind of do a highlight with that with bigger font slightly. Although if you did it this way it wouldn't be a drag and drop sort of thing, you would have to create a button for each selection you have. Other than that, this tutorial was the most helpful tutorial I have ever watched in my entire life. I've always wanted to do this kind of stuff.
by mcv 08/05/2009
Thanks a ton Andrew, you do amazing work and you're a good teacher.
by Lnkprk04 08/03/2009
Great job! Way to show me Encore, I have it and now I know how to use it. I usually was just using DVD Studio, but couldn't make 16x9 dvd menu's, but now I can, thanks.
by LMW1 07/30/2009
Great tutorial!

Only problem is when I went to view it on my TV (actually on 2 televisions) it looked a little distorted and fuzzy.

Wonder why?
by Jakob 07/29/2009
Again: A great Tutorial!

I just want to ad: For those of you who have Dynamic Link (it only comes with the bundles), you don´t have to render the aae project!
You easily can add it in Encore (or open a new one there).
And: You can add buttons directly in aae!!!

Chears,

All the best!

Greetings from Vienna!

Hey Andrew!

Can you start making tutorials with Adobe After Effects CS4???
Because i only have CS4 version, and any projects of 3d text you have in your tutorias doesn't work correct with my aee cs4.

by Barry 07/03/2009
Hey Andrew. Great tutorial. One question though...

What exactly is the point of starting out with NTSC D1 Widescreen Square Pixel, if you're only going to convert it into NTSC DV Widescreen? Why not just start out in NTSC DV Widescreen and save any troubles you could run into?

I'm asking this because I personally don't know much about conversions of aspect ratios. So maybe an explanation as to why you do it that one would help me out. Thanks.
by rudyZero 07/03/2009
I just found your tutorials and let me say the're awesome¡¡¡
all the basics for after effects.. all in one :D
thanks so much for this... and of course in some time i will go for the advanced :D ... in some time of course

thanks from Peru ;)
by John Fitch 07/03/2009
Hi, Great tutorial.

Just wondering, is there any need to export as MPEG2 from Premiere CS4, when you Dynamic Link it directly into Encore? I assume the conversion would be the same? So you can let Encore do it without sacrificing anything?

Cheers, keep up the great work!

John

Quick Question... not exactly sure what the issue is but when I choose new menu in encore, it automatically is putting a premade template menu in, not a blank menu. any thoughts???
by Jeffrey 06/29/2009
Hey Andrew,

Awesome tutorial as always!! I had a few questions for you that you may or may not have the answers for on here.

1. Is it possible to make the buttons movie clips? How would you go about that?

2. Is there a workaround for making multiple angled video in After Effects or Encore CS3?

Thanks man, keep up the great work!!
by Iman 06/29/2009
Andrew, I'm from Iran, you are amazing, many of video editors here use your products and i use them too. i learned After effects from you and think you are the only teacher available in internet for free. do you have any other video tutorials? like Photo shop tutorials or other software?
i love the way you teach, you say everything like shortcuts or you tell us the reason for anything you do.
thanks a lot for helping me a lot. anyway please write a short story of your life and how you became a video editor and how you learned so many things. that would be really really helpful.

by Oliew 06/23/2009
I have had issues in the past with encore burning blurays and the bad error reporting encore does, the one thing i have found helps is to get rid of spaces in the project folders, and any filenames, a pain but worked for me.
