I really love your tutorials. Great stuff! I personally thought that using Multiply gave me a more realistic color for the blood than Classic Color Burn when I went through this tutorial.

I <3 your work, but i just wanted to ask, i only have the rectangle tool and can't get the spherical tool ( the one you used to make it look like the blood was splattering?

I'm making a video wherein a character gets his head run over by a train. I want the blood to fly out in all directions (towards the camera as well). Can this be done in Final Cut?

Doesnt really look realistic. Especially the blood spatter effect. It suddenly appears on his arm.

When i set my Action Essentials 2 blood thingy to screen, it goes transparent, and you can hardly see it.
You can only really see it when you put it on something black.

Andrew, I just wanted you to get at least one message that was from someone for whom English is not a second language. I watch your tutorials every day, many times each(my wife has officially had it with "that Andrew Kramer guy!" but hey - it takes me a few times to "get it" with this stuff. Plus of course, you fly through things so fast and I am a newbie at AE. But the best part for me is your sarcasm and little personal detours (golf, illness, whatever) that keep it human. Thanks.

Be sure to choose high contrast points. The tracker needs a definite recognizable area to hold on to. Also make sure nothing goes in front of your track point. Keep trying until the tracking sticks correctly. Everything is in the tutorial, just watch the part about tracking over and over (like me) and things will click more and more.

hello there nice clip but i was wondering can you make a tutorial on how to make it seem like iif i got shot in my chest ive tried to do it but the blood stays on the screen and doesnt follow my motion, can you please help me with this one.

Nice! I like the look of the blood... and the giant rock... the bump map really gives it its realism. One question though... for Raiders of the Lost Ark, how would you do the face melt effect, (or in other words which would be less difficult) mold casting or dummy, or after effects generated?

can someone help me?:
im gonna make an explosion appear to be behind actor. the actor stands still(whit some little movements)and when i mask it i have to make it around him. and when i play it, it looks weird, couse all the little movements make the mask unmatched whit the actor. and i have to do this frame by frame!!! and his hair are sticking out and that makes it even harder!!
soooo... do you guys have have a tip on what i should do whit the hair, so it looks smooth,and the rest off it. or must i do this the hard way. frame by frame by frame.........

@Azza: Action Movie Essentials isn't a preset. It's a collection of images and videos that must be imported before they can be used.

i cant seem to find my action movie essentials on the presets even though ive saved it in the presets files, the film magic pro worked, but for some reason i cant find action movie. can u help? thanks

Hey, an interesting alt to using a graphic blood splatter, is to create a particle spray with trapcode with a non visible wall layer and the particles set to stick.

Do you [or anybody?!] have any advice or hints for animating/compositing entry wounds? My subject doesnt cover his wound once he's shot, so I've got to add an entry in there for a solid 3 or 4 seconds.

I just bought Action Movie Essentials, and let me say, it is AWESOME. If you're tossing the idea around in your head, and you've got some action/gore scenes to do, don't delay anymore. It's an invaluable tool, and I think I'm going to get a ton of use out of it.
Okay, plug over, now I have a question. In the project-download of this link, the footage is amazingly clear, and my computer is able to render it nearly INSTANTANEOUSLY, which is quite a feat for my computer. I'm wondering how it was exported that made it so clear and efficient. At this point I consider myself at least a decent animator, but the concept of compression/codec efficiency still eludes me.
Any help would be appreciated.

but anyone has the idea how to make this rock fall on the guy? I'm trying to create something like this but its hard for me. my sphere is on the top of my footage, and it doesn't look realistic, i have no idea how to make this sphere 'in the video'.
