i have been a huge fan of Video co-pilot and have learned much but i can no longer view the tutorials because i have old technology (Power PC mac running Tiger) and cannot use the latest adobe flash. Is there a work around?

Yes, to some extent. You can use CC Particle Systems II or CC Particle World. It's not as versatile but you can do similar animations with sound. If you are simply looking to animate a line you can do that easily with Audio Waveform and just for fun throw in Turbulent Displace...

So I did everything that was stated in the video, but when I rendered it out, all I got was the animation without any audio at all. What am I doing wrong? My audio is in .wav format and is roughly 4 minutes 30 seconds long.

Make sure you select (by clicking the check box) Audio Settings in your Output Module Settings (OMS). This is found in your Render Queue, when you add a comp to render. It's the bottom left option in the queue. Select the name of the type of file you are creating, and the bottom option of the OMS is your audio option.

put the animation in premiere or final cut and add your audio to the timeline, should sync perfectly. Then export it in the format you prefer.

I have done everything, but in the end when i play the file the song doesn't come out. When i press (period) button i only could hear the song and when i press (space) i only could see the animation, how can i get both of them playing at the same time? btw my audio file is mp3

Use the keypad zero key to RAM preview. That will give you both video and audio simultaneously. The space-bar will only play your video, and the period will only play your audio.

Hate to agree with him but, being a noob in AE, I worked on this for like nearly an hour and then found out trapecode did not come with AE itself. I was really disappointed. Andrew, can you mention it at the beginning of the vid next time? Thanks :)

I can not play or hear my song in playback or RAM-preview. What can I do to fix this??

Great tutorial Ak! For anyone who is trying to do this with a longer exert (or an entire song) you may run into an issue where when you create the keyframes from the audio, and you click on the Null it immediately gets deleted. I struggled with this 10 different ways and then just gave up. I created the null and went to get a donut. When i came back and clicked on it, it was still there :D Moral of the story, if your Null with Audio keyframes gets deleted, just let it sit for a couple of seconds before clicking :) Great tutorial again!

Great tutorial, cant wait to finish my project. But i have a problem. Somehow, when i try to orbit around the particle, it remains as a dot. So that was the part where i couldnt go on with the tutorial. Thank you for your help, anyone.

Had the same problem, I figured out that if you open your cameras settings and click "reset" to revert the cameras point of interest back to default, you can now correctly orbit around the particles.
