Great tutorial. A kid I work with is making a zombie movie and wanted to know if I could blow somebody's head off. I combined this tut with your lightning strike explosion and the result was messy and awesome.

Hey can somone please help me!, i have after effects 7.0 and cs4 and when i try to inport the blood splatter clip from Action Movie essentials it comes up with this messege (Error. After Effects error: File "Blood_Birst_06.mov" is not a valid file type for inport.) Do u know whats going on here? How can i fix this?

Is there a way to do motion blur on stop-motion but only on the parts that are moving, almost like frame interpolation but with blur and in the correct directions of movement?

I am just wondering if any of the passing cars saw you shooting this and thinking the guy was really shooting himself.

I did everything in your tutorial step by step but the head disapearing is not working for me. All I get is an outline that is transparent around the head instead of the entire head being transparent with the background. Please Help!

I'm very disappointed in the subject matter for this tutorial. My 11 year old son was enjoying using some of your tutorials, but when my wife found the tutorial contained an effect of a man blowing his brains out, we were horrified. I'm sure there must be a less nihlistic, depressing and upsetting way of simulating a flesh wound in a lesson. From a marketing perspective, I think your shooting yourself in the foot (if not in the head) by creating tutorials that are inappropriate for younger ages, who would be keen to buy your products. Maybe when you have children of your own you'll understand.

but thing is... that the backgound picture I use, the still frame at the end, is not perfectly alined with the rest of the video for some reason, so you can tell it's forgery, because they r not perfetly alined, so when u remove the head the background doesn't perfecly match and is a little off
don't know if other people have the same issue as me
and I'd like to make a tutorial request, can u please make one where you incorporate ufos in a video? like fake an alien flyby? that would be off the hook!

i made this by using the tutorial and the action movie essentials(which is great).
And updated the look of this vid a little bit by changing the mask and the blood spattering use.
instead of blowing his head of, he is just shooting a small part off.

You can add sound in After Effects, but you cant hear it until you export it. And now I have a question, it may have been asked before, but I was looking for maybe a solution, is there any other way to get the cool blood effects without buying Action Essentials? thanks great tutorials.

I'd give u an advice: strech the blood to slow down the time a lil bit and add the sharpen effect, it'd be more realistic so
