I was just about to ask why do u needed to use the white solid, why won't just put the mask on the frozen frame layer, then I realized u couldn't move just the mask (not easily, only if u change the mask path point by point, which could give u maybe a more precise look)

This is a great tutorial, as are all the rest. But I find the subject matter a bit disturbing. yea I know, I am going to get booed off for saying this. But as someone who has been around this sort of thing, i found it of great distaste. If this was the first thing I saw on here, I wouldnt return. But since you are such a great teacher and at least from what we can see on here, a sensible guy, its not going to run me off. But i cant speak for other first time or second time visitors.

Anyway, Just thought youd like the feedback. Thanks for all your hard work and knowledge.

I did have a hard time getting a good motion track on the wall as the blood slides a tiny bit on the wall.

I FOUND AN ERROR WITH THIS ONE!

Sorry about the all-caps. Really, I just did that to get some attention. I'm not an all-caps kinda guy. While using your clip in my own project for practice, I discovered that the mask covering the guy's head is creating an artifact on the traffic behind him. If you go to 6:18, look at the car behind the head matte as you scrub the time indicator. That car jumps backward a little as the matte moves to the right and down. At first, I thought I was just doing something wrong, but the tutorial has the same problem.

The next logical step is to now try fixing this, but am I right here? I'm not seeing things, am I? Much love, Mr. K. I hope your golf game has improved

He makes a frozen duplicate of the original where you see the sky so that when you mask off the guy's head you will see the sky naturally there, think if you didn't have it and you cut off the head from the picture, you would just have a hole in your image. The tracking is used to make it appear as if the effects he is adding to the shot were there when he took it, it makes the fog and other effect move and respond to the camera and the whole thing looks more convincing, otherwise it will stick out that you are just pasting stuff on a video that was already shot before. I hope that helps to clarify.

hi, i've got a problem with this tutorial, i'm using AE cs4 but when I try to move the time bar of the duplicated layer, the bracket doesn't appear, at first when I duplicate the layer it's ok but when a I add the time remaping the brackets desapears. And there aren't brackets neither in the nul object layer... any idea???

Hey can somone please help me!, i have after effects 7.0 and cs4 and when i try to inport the blood splatter clip from Action Movie essentials it comes up with this messege (Error. After Effects error: File "Blood_Birst_06.mov" is not a valid file type for inport.) Do u know whats going on here? How can i fix this?
