Hi Andrew.
I am a great lover of your tutorials. I have watched almost all of them although I am a low income earner working for a dollar or two per day while i have a family. For now I don't have a computer to put into practice what I learn from these tutorials but I believe that one day they will be of great help. I love video production and i will work hard to accomplish my dream. thank you for your continued help. You are one of your kind. Once again thank you.

awesome but I think if the footage has pretty much clouds its gonna be difficult to make that awesome advanced sky replacement

How hard would this be to do in reverse? Take a cloudy sky over, say, mountains or sand dunes and replace it with a completely clear blue sky?

I can't seem to separate my subjects complety from the background with the output cycle wheel. is there any other method of "crushing" my subjects completely to black?

anybody know where i find the "trKMat" box on after effects CS4 or 6? i'm trying to find the luna matte invert option, but cs6 doesnt have the trkmat box in the timeline

I have 3d animation its goes from day to night..but my night sky effect is not good i have to change into twightlight effect its now going black...need to put color.., i try but problem is its changing to day and night so how can i do it...guide pls.

Can someone let me know if the second part of this tutorial works in cs5.
I have imported the video.
User color correction, colorama to and grey it out.
Then add the adjustment layer.
Effects color corection Hue/saturation
Then create a copy of the original footage and drop the adjustment layer in the middle of the footage.
I can get the effect of tweaking as all I have is a black and white picture.
Help please

This is a very helpful tut...I used it to key out the ground on a scene using a chroma key....the chromakey was just behind the talent and not on ground...THANKS AGAIN

I got a awesome sky replacement slide show picture i remove the sky of the picture and replace it with a moving cloud the plugin could real clouds

Great work Andrew. I did a 3 day shoot where we had to replace the sky in almost every shot. I did something very similar to the gradient background you showed in this tutorial. I added a layer with fractal noise to create clouds. This added to the realism and texture to the sky. And I could use the controls of the FN to match pans and tilts which would be hard to do with a flat image.

If you do not have the "mode, T or TrckMat" in your time time look at the bottom of your screen to the right of "Expand or collapse layer..." and you will see "Toggle Switches / Modes".

Thx for the tutorial it was very handy for past two weeks while I was doing videos for the elections. Last shot was ment to be like super hero over the city and the Sky replacemant did a very good sell.

FANTASTIC. You are the best. Love your tutorials. No doubt you are a genius at this work.
In the future, could you please consider doing a tutorial on a sky replacement where the camera is panning about 180 degrees across a landscape (way to the left or right), and you have to attach a long new section to the sky / then blend the edge / as the pan continues?

wow! great tutorial, one question can you use that method of mattes and stuff to green screen? if a "green" screen wouldn't work maybe just a white sheet!

Hey man this was great. I wish you could talk a little more about using it for effects though. Like in X-Men when Storm makes the sky all dark and cloudy, show how they do that, relating it to what you showed us here. Thanks man for your time and willingness to help.

My video doesn't have a very bright background and there are some clouds visible making it impossible for me to make the matte. Can anyone help me out how i can fix this?

Just out of curiosity... I tried rendering out the final video but it didn't render out.. does this have anything to do about the little mark next to the .mov file? Am I not supposed to be able to render it out?

but: what if the original sky isn't that shiny and say a little bit more grey/dark... the colorama effect doesn't work that great to key it out... what can i do??? (i'm not the key-out-master)

First off andrew awsome tutorials!!!Can oyu do a tutorial where you can explain how to put a 3d animation in behind live action footage...Like in transformers movie when optimus transforms and walks towards the kids...How did they composite optimus prime in front of the people!! I try to do it by drawing a mask around the people but it too hard and too long to move the mask to try to follow the motion of the live action people!! If you could could you do a tutorial of something like this!!!
