Wow, 29 minutes to!

by Tim 12/17/2007
Thanks a lot Andrew!

This answered so many questions I had.

Now, it just needs a "PART 2"...

How to import an animated logo sequence from MAX. Something where the MAX camera is animated a lot on the Z axis like what you have done here. It would would be great if the camera simply went from one logo (with simple animated letters bouncing or whatever) to another animated logo, having the camera stop and look at each logo and then flying onto the next. Then, how to export that sequence with camera data into AE for Particular, Shine effects, etc.

Anyway... just in case you have some free time on your hands (yea, right) I'm guessing that with a new baby girl you probably aren't even sleeping much.

Congrats by the way!

@ Fest1,
There maybe several reasons it takes so long for your "Ram" preview, but here are 2 things
that may help.

1. Go to "Edit", then "Purge", then "All".

2. In your Comp window bottom right
the "Fast Preview" button I use
"Adaptive Resolution".

See if those 2 things help at all.

To Andrew,
Thanks again for a wonderful tutorial!

by Carlito 12/18/2007

Got Stuck at the Depth of Field part..

- hit "a" twice on Camera, turned on Depth of Field
- click on the particles layer, but cant find "Full Render + DOF Square (AE)"

only see "Render Mode: Full Render" and "Motion Preview"

Using AE CS3

Andrew,
My son and I visit your site all the time looking for a new tutorial and call each other when you post a new one.. we have also purchased most if not all of your products..Thanks all for your effort, it is most appreciated, I have learned alot from you, and you've helped me improve my AE skills. Please don't stop sharing your skills and expertise.. Happy holidays to you and your family.

Mark, Reno, Nevada
by franco 12/18/2007
This was an awesome tutorial, however I seem to have encountered a problem.

When I render this out, even though I have draft 3d mode checked on, text seems to retain the DOF of the camera. Ive played around with everything I know that might affect it and nothing good yet. Anyone else encounter this??
by Olli 12/19/2007
Nice one!

Maybe you could work around a bit
more with the trapcode plugins?!
Just like the cool "smokewrite"
in the trapcode-gallery...or somethin^^

Hey andrew kramer this is a little off this tutorials but for your bug crawling in your skin tut can you realse another tutorial on how to make the oppisite effect like someone invisble whos walking on a beach and footprints are going into the sand or ground or whatever but you dont see anyone? ya know what i mean"

- cant you just shoot sand/snow w a tripod - then walk on it. open 2 layers in after effects and use linear wipe between the 2 layers to get rid of the person. throw in some film magic pro .. ha ha

This was an awesome tutorial, however I seem to have encountered a problem.

When I render this out, even though I have draft 3d mode checked on, text seems to retain the DOF of the camera. Ive played around with everything I know that might affect it and nothing good yet. Anyone else encounter this??

I agree OT!

I don't see this either...how do we get this working in AE Andrew?

I am looking to do the exact thing here. Make a music video(on green screen)...

Bill O'Neil Big Ten Spot comes to mind. I would love more info on how exactly he did it...

Anyone provide any more info tips here?

Thanks.
