This coulda help me so much on the projects I was working this year. I can totally relate to having too many keyframes when animating a camera. This answered so many questions I had.

Now, it just needs a "PART 2"...

How to import an animated logo sequence from MAX. Something where the MAX camera is animated a lot on the Z axis like what you have done here. It would would be great if the camera simply went from one logo (with simple animated letters bouncing or whatever) to another animated logo, having the camera stop and look at each logo and then flying onto the next. Then, how to export that sequence with camera data into AE for Particular, Shine effects, etc.

Anyway... just in case you have some free time on your hands (yea, right) I'm guessing that with a new baby girl you probably aren't even sleeping much.

i have a question here, WHY MY PREVIEW ON AFTER EFFECTS CS3 ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAMN SLOW?

By the way, i have an iMac intel Core 2 duo 2.16 ghz, 2.0 Gb of RAM. On Graphics it´s an ATY,RadeonX1600 (128).

I dont know if im doing something wrong, but when i view a RAM Preview, it takes like 10 minutes to view a 15 secs. presentation

I guess beggers cant be choosers but i'll ask anyway:
how about a tutorial on importing a maya camera and a few elements, logos or something. or better yet, paint effects drawing on with the camera following it and some particular thrown in for good messure. that shouldn't be to hard, right? :/

There maybe several reasons it takes so long for your "Ram" preview, but here are 2 things
that may help.

1. Go to "Edit", then "Purge", then "All".

2. In your Comp window bottom right
the "Fast Preview" button I use
"Adaptive Resolution".

See if those 2 things help at all.

- click on the particles layer, but cant find "Full Render + DOF Square (AE)"

- cant you just shoot sand/snow w a tripod - then walk on it. open 2 layers in after effects and use linear wipe between the 2 layers to get rid of the person. throw in some film magic pro .. ha ha

But i've gotta a pb when i Track a shoot (like your set-extension or sky replacement) parently to a null object. How do you apply the "motion track" to a matte with the null object?
