ok hope you get this mr guru. just a question I used this tyt to create a hall with 5 rooms, cam goes to 1 the 2 and and to few keywords, now cause it was my first time creating this it took me along time to line up every little thing. an effect like that would it work better using a 3d program or ae, also if 3dmax can you do a tut on thst, i am sticking with the 1 I made but your touch could and would help yhe learning process... thanks

Thanks Andrew.

Another great tutorial Andrew! Just one minor mistake that will only screw up those of us who were really listening near the end: wiggle(0.75,35) does not wiggle once ever 3/4 of a second, it does 3/4 of a wiggle every second (or 1 wiggle ever 1.333 seconds)
by sael 09/07/2009
thankssssssss
by TAK West 08/31/2009
Great tutorial. I have noticed an issue, probably due to only 4 gigs of Memory on my iMac (an 8 core is in my future... but the economy... yada yada)

When I use the Motion Tile effect, I can't raise the Output Width past 500. I get a warning about the buffer and it will only repeat 3 times.

If I go to Half resolution I can get more repeats, but in full rez the repeated tiles disappear. Even when I output.

I need my room to be reallly long so I think I may have to manually create it rather than tile it.

Other than that, some cool stuff.

I was watching a filipino channel just a few hours ago and I saw one of their vids to promote their programs/shows. I thought there was something awfully familiar with the CG of the vid. I checked out your site to review some of the fantastic tuts you have here. True enough, the video was almost an exact replica of this tut--even the wall texture and the color cast were exactly the same. It's like they just changed the camera motion, added some pics on the walls and removed the original text. hehehe! Not even a hint of their own creativity. Well, I'm glad to know that two years after, this tut (and all other of your tuts) still ROCK!!
Andre Kramer, you're so passionate at what you do it positively infects us all! Thank you for all these wonderful free tuts and excellent quality products!

Okay, so I JUST got After Effects CS4, and I would like to do this, and I downloaded the project file, and I actually have the grunge picture that looks exactly like this.

But what I don't know how to do (basically everything), is how to extend the tunnel, and make turns and stuff. (Say that I want to make a right turn and go down another tunnel after that.)

I also don't understand how to make the camera motion like you did to go up onto the text.

How would I go about doing this?

PLEASEEE email me back.

My light isn't working at all. It does nothing.
by Another happy AE user 10/05/2008
THANKS AK for this great tut!

Lemme see if I can answer a couple of the previously asked questions:

- You don't need to buy all of Riot Gear to complete this tutorial (but you should to support Andrew Kramer!), just the texture Grunge_gray_11.jpg. Replace the "technicolor" screens in the project by right-clicking on the image in the project window, then "replace footage" with the texture you wanna use. Make sure IMAGE SEQUENCE IS UNCHECKED!

- To make the camera zoom back out, further down the hall, etc.: move further ahead in the timeline past the last keyframe, use the orbit/track tools to move the camera where you want to go, then set another keyframe. Bob's yer uncle!
by Gabe 10/04/2008

But i really need help i finish the movie but when i render it i play the video after its finished and the camera goes up to the text but its facing the wall so you can see nothing ive re tried 4 times and still please help.

by Trent Sprenkle 09/02/2008
I had an odd problem with my walls flickering at the edges when moving the CTI or in the render. It was only doing it in the tiled portions of the walls. What gives??

Also, I had to pull down the apeture setting because my walls edges were blurring too much and you could see through them.

Trent
by TrentSprenkle 09/01/2008
Great tut! One little problem happened to me tho. When I rendered I noticed the edges of the walls going all funky. Maybe I had too much apeture or blur and it was burring out the edges too much? Other than that, all killer, no filler.
