Hi Andrew, Great tutorials for an old fart like me reacquainting myself with AE, so thanks. Even though I'm using AE 5.5 I replicated this tutorial with no problems, however, is there a reason the text is black because when I tried to use yellow, it was fine in the 'TEXT' comp, but in the final comp, well, it was a horrible dark muddy colour. Is it a bug, or just the way it is? Cheers.

Thanks for the great tutorials, yours are consistently the best I've seen. Just one question. I am trying to use this method with a logo but when I make the logo 3D, it makes the logo turn black-ish and it looks terrible. I've tried all different solutions but nothing seems to work. Any input would be appreciated.

kinda thought of a way to make the reflection look more 3 dimensionally realistic with the camera movement... gonna try to do it but not sure how successful i'll be considering i started learning AE 2 days ago. But i will post a link for sure if i manage to do it.

your tutorials are the greatest!! I am a volunteer at the community television station and mostly video tape basketball and football games. would love to see some tutorials geared for sports. currently use digital juice products. I really want to include great titles.

But one thing must say. I tried my best to create reflections but failed. I ended up with applying mirror effect to create reflection, precomposed as 2d and applied on 3d. Reflection was there but movements (other than x,y) was not possible.
Too many hidden tools. Adobe is bad. Logic is dis respected in AE. Combustion far far better and simple. Costs less than AE also.

hey andrew... love the tutorial, i've watched at least 20-30 of them... you are amazing at effects, but i was wondering if you could make another on 3D rooms and halls or something... like, a maze or FIRE i want 3d (or 2D) FIRE any advice?
it could be a maze where a wrong turn makes you catch on fire, that would be a fun game!
i'm sure you could get like a hundred little micro- robots and send the through and the one that make it out could come back

Just wondering about linking the text. I notice that when you link it this way if you change the kerning or tracking, the linked layer doesn't follow suit. I don't see a way to link these changes - any ideas?

Really cool stuff, love your tutorials, I have a question. How can I keep diffent "reflections" from running into other reflections? Example: I have a square box in the middle of the shot and the reflection from each side is being shown thru the other sides as it turns. I added some glow to my text(and bring light a bit to front beceause else you will not see it) and it gives a great look!!
