I'm using the 2010 version though on demo. When I go to to load the Viewport background, all that shows up for the Camera 1 viewport is a white background. I follow your steps exactly, and I've tried it many times, but it's still a white background that shows up, and not the image sequence. Can you please help me Andrew? For those who haven't got a camcorder, could you please put the raw footage available for download? Thanks in advance! In the meantime I have been studying boujou, and I've found that there is a setting into the menu Edit->Preferences->3d display->Preferred camera orientation that should make the trick for 3ds max compatibility. Choose Z-up/Y-forward. Also in the tranformations toolbar, we can adjust the position of the main(reference)grid relative to ground. Hope this helps.
