great!!!!
that was pretty awesome.
I was hoping you would teach me everything i needed to know for my new project. and you did!
The world of artists needs a guy like you!
to bad I don't have boujou.. to bad I'm not a robot who doesn't need money so he can spend all of it on computer software...
uhh.. yeah
Cheers
I've been waiting for this one!
Im wondering if someone is using Maya as a 3d package?
I just can't get the right lighting and realism effect when rendering..
Max's renderer is soooo easier and simplier!
Great job Andrew! Thaaaaanks so much
This simply is the ONLY good clear boujou tracking tutorial on the web and trust me I have searched. Wish someone could tell me how to set manual tracking points in Boujou though...
manual tracking points? you click on the button for adding points. then you just click.
Now you are really blowing me away with your tutorials. Gotta say that I have waited so long for an Boujou tracking tut.
Keep up the good work!
You are the best.
Congratulations.
God blesses you.
Thanks for all your help!
Otherwise, nice tut :) Looking forward to part 2 and 3
Ahh! Your too awesome!
"ZOMG holy f***in' sh*t, Andrew this is so cool how do you do it Thankyouyouarethebest omg!!!!11one"
instead of a retarded-driven comment board full of useless comments, only 0.1% of them are helpful or even interesting in any way. It doesn't have to be like this if you separate the "thanks" from the "interesting comments" that are being ignored now by being lost in the immensity.
Many sites have rules such as "All comments that doesn't contribute to the thread will be moved or deleted". I know there is a forum, but this should be where people talk and provide useful information about the tutorial.
This site could be better... if you want.
(feel free to edit this post as you like)
TL;DR:
Whenever you want to thank Andrew and request for a new useful comment board with no "thanks" at the same time, post the text:
ZOMG holy f***in' sh*t, Andrew this is so cool how do you do it Thankyouyouarethebest omg!!!!11one
I thought I had a good handle on match-moving, but I've learned some important fundamental stuff here! If only this had come out 2 months ago, my last project might have been a whole lot less painful!
Thanks!
Im really looking to learn more about 3d tracking and I was wondering how you learned. Are there any good books or websites that you can recommend for someone who wants to learn 3d tracking/boujou?
Thanks and the new tut is very helpful
You rock!
im jk YOU ROCK Andrew, you are my new best friend
P.S. you rock!
Your the best!
I'm on your page more than I'm on my regular porn sites :)
Try dome based lighting, mental ray with final gather, it is easy ;)
in the middle there is a scene where 3 of them run down the hill.
it was tracked. how do you set up the coordinates for 3ds max?
how do you even track grass with irregular shape?
thank you
Thank you so much!
Where is a project-file?
p.s. please, upload your examples on YouTube. I want to see your resultats on this "Meteor-tutorial"

Can you make a learnig dvd on BouJou
Iam gonna buy it then
I think andrew was created by some unnatural super power from outerspace.
My point is these tutorails open a whole new demesions for many of us :)
I like the other commenter change the preferences so the co-ordinates system is Max friendly.
I didn't realise you could alter the Camera settings AFTER you track I always setup the camer settings i.e. framerate before tracking.
Boujou isn't too keen on standard video camera footage i.e interlaced footage as probably most of your readers/viewers use this, in their own films/videos, you can help it along tho if you shoot the scene you intend to track at a much higher framerate, (obviously this depends on your camcorder settings) as long as you stay in your NTSC or PAL settings increasing the frames per sec on you camera even if its higher than PALs 25fps or NTSC's 29.97fps the footage will still adhere to that standard so if you shot at 1000 frames per second in PAL (thus reducing motion blur, Boujous deadly ememy) when you import it into Boujou it still will be PAL 25 FPS (or more accurately interlaced 50fps) this will dramatically improve your tracking success rate.
Excellent informative stuff Andrew. ACE!!
xyz lang pala
part one is enough for me to understand how
and hey thanks for 2d3 for allowing Kramer to teach boujou =p
Thx for all :)
more BOUJOU....
what anybody would make.
Thanks
You are the best Kramer, keep it up.
Amazing you give such quality information out for free, and even more amazing are the ungrateful people who leave stupid comments here.
I got a pretty cool idea: A tutorial on modeling and texturing your meteor, and integrate that with the Blue Planet or Earth Zoom tutorial. Then you could show how the meteor burns as it enters the atmosphere! =D
Just as a point of intrest..I have been using boomerlabs Max2AE pluging for the past few months to get 3d helpers and Ref points into AE from Max. Its awesome to say the least, export scenes including object helpers, camera's and lighting. Has saved me so so much time...a cheaper alternative to boujou.

me encanta esta serie de tutoriales.

Not a fan of 3dsmax, but it's good to know how to change the coordinate system. Sweeeeet.
Are you going to pull a captain insano trick on us and do an advanced match moving tutorial? You know like replacing part of a persons head with the famous tea pot that only max has.
guess boujou is not affordable for most of the guys her but nevertheless good to know how it works :D

First of all, this tutorial rocks - again!
But I'm interested in another thing. You talk about the 3D TEXT Tutorial. But i can't find it anywhere. So maybe u can help me! If there isnt already a whole tutorial about it out there i'd love to see a tutorial creating a 3D text like in the opening sequence of "PANIC ROOM". Cause i just dont get it and i am desperate. I think i have to track the motion of the real 2D Footage and ajust it to the title, right?! But... like i said... i just don't get it! Hope u give me an answer! Greetings from good old Germany. Chris

Well, great work man!
Go around the world, Andrew! Don't forget to landing in Indonesia ^^
I just bought AE CS4 (actually the whole Adobe Production Premium suite) and it came with "Mocha for AE CS4" and I have no idea what it's for. It looks a lot like this Boujou. Do you know if it's for 3D tracking??
Keep up the great work!
What was the name of 3d traking software.
LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
