This is an awesome idea, but i'm just wondering, if I wanted to convert 25p footage to 24p (I realize theres very little difference but it is better in my opinion at 24fps) how would I go about it using the preset?

Cheers, Luke

Thx Andrew! but one question, is this the exact same preset as the one before, or will this one work in CS3? Thx Again!
by WiRXMAN 03/17/2008
Looks like it is the same preset from earlier. AK just probably put it up here as it fits this content area.

Now that I have my Canon HV20, I am going to check this sucker out. Will come in handy I presume. Thnx Andrew.

Man, you just saved my bacon. I'm right in the middle of an edit where I have to combine some 24fps and 30fps DVCProHD footage. You rock!!! Are you still coming to NAB? I want to buy you a beer.

Hi Andrew, thank you for providing us so many great presents and tutorials, it really helps me a lot. After reviewed the Frame Rate Converter tutorial, I wonder if a video which comes with a sound, would it be a problem after converting the frame rate? Do you mind showing us how to fix it. Again Thank you very much, please keep showing us more about After Effect.

I am not really sure how to use this preset file within AE. But, I can tell you I have used every program that will convert 60i to 24p. The vid cap at the top pretty much says it all. Just conform your footage to 23.976...DONE. It'll spit out a 24p file with footage slowed down like film. I like to throw Twixtor on top and use the speed control to slow it down a little more. AE built in speed control sucks. Not fluid at all.

Andrew I wonted to ask if you could do a Tutorial on that Creepy (The Ring) shutter walk FX, or commonly used FX,s in Horror films. Add that to one of your dvd lineup.

Andrew mentioned something called "twixter" to create the preset from scratch in pre-7 versions. What is that, and how can I get it??
Thanks!

I've been visiting for months your website, and i've seen most of the tutorial, and now i can't help leaving a message, Man, you are the NEO of compositing, i'm from Colombia, i study every move you teach and my skilss has just increase more in 6 months than all my life in compositing. Anything you would like to have, just ask, my debt with you guys is infinite!! REALLY THANK YOU, just ask anything Sir Andrew Kramer!

by Will 09/25/2008
Anyone got a preset that works with English CS3? I can't get this to work with CS3-I have the same issue as explained above where when I try to change the frame rate it changes both fields.
by vellarod 10/02/2008
wow great
by Harry 10/18/2008
WOW thankyou soo much andrew :D, but i just have a lil' problem, my footage, previously NTSC 30fps, converted to 24p looks funky, and weird things appear on the footage. Is this because i am using CS3 or do you know another reason why?
Thanks a tun andrew

Hey, this is a great preset, it's definitely going to save time and money and works well too.

I saw above 2 issues mentioned, one about both frame rate sliders changing at the same time, it is probably because those two properties are both selected within the effects control window, deselect and reselect the one you want to use.

The second problem was about funky looking footage, this is probably with footage featuring fast movement / rapidly changing composition or a video file with dissolves in from one shot to another, and you are probably using the 'pixel motion' method of frame blending, change to the 'whole frames' method.

Now I have a question, I have a video track and an audio track i want to change but i can't seem to do the audio, any suggestions? can i do this with the preset?
