Rogue One - A Lego Star Wars Story

Three days after the new Rogue One trailer released in August, my soon-to-be doomed sleep schedule came up with the brilliant idea of recreating the trailer in Lego. There are already a few of these on YouTube, but let's be honest, they all need a ton of work.

I wanted to do this fully-CG and wanted to go into as much detail as shown in The Lego Movie to give it a "completely Lego" feel. I started by trying to use Element 3D, but quickly figured out that something like this needs to be done in Maya. So I began putting bricks into Maya and over the course of two-weeks, put together a shot.

Since then I have completed an additional 14 shots, and am now moving at a steady pace. I hope to complete this for the "Go Rogue" contest, which ends on October 21, but realistically that will be an extreme challenge to get done for October 21.
