I want to search for a specific tutorial but I don't know the name of this kind of art :s

I know I can easily just copy it, but I actually want to learn the technique so that I can use this with other images..
Anyone can help me out and tell me the name of this kind of silhouette?

thx in advance.

Agreed, it is a vector image. It could be done in photoshop, but generally something like this would be done in a vector program (such as illustrator as mentioned previously). It is not a photo that has been converted, but rather an image created from nothing (perhaps copied from a photo).

As for the technique used. If I were doing something alone these lines. I'd get a photo image of the image I wanted to copy (a hummingbird in this case), outline it, and then start to break it down into sections. Then, it's just a matter of playing with the gradient tool to color it like this.
