CS6 Ray-traced shadows

Hi there,

I've seen a few posts about faking shadows for Element 3D but didn't find the solutions convincing enough. Here is a demo I made where the "room" and the shadows are made using After Effect CS6's ray-tracing 3D engine:
The shadows are made dynamically by using a copy of the Element 3D layer pre-comped with a secondary camera positioned at the same place as the light is. This pre-comp is then scaled down and placed close to the light and with in the material options "Cast Shadows" set to "Only". The ray-tracing engine then uses this layer to cast CS6 shadows onto the whole scene.
Even though you have another Element 3D layer in the main composition ... well you've hear it a thousand times: it's fast.[youtube][/youtube] There are a few tricks to do to get it right, so I'm going to make a script that sets up the shadows automatically. In the meantime if you're interested I could make a short tutorial.

A tutorial on that would be excellent - great work!

And of course a script sometime soon would be even more excellent ; )
