DIY Spherical HDRi

Postby disneytoy on 07/17/2012, 9:45 pm

With Elements 3D's ability to use your own Environmental map for reflections. Can someone explain how to make our own?

I'm imagining shoting a video clip. Also shooting stills for the environmental map. Then when we bring our 3D elements into our comp, we can match the environment from the footage.

So, any tips on generating them suitable for Elements?

Element's environments are not HDRI. They are simply spherically mapped 360° panoramic views.
There are numerous programs out there for doing panoramas.

You can open it and look by yourself. Or you can look in the Scene Setup, it's clearly shown there.
Appx. 1024 x something.
