C4d 3D object import advice

Postby JoolaPrime on 07/12/2012, 3:48 pm

I’m not a 3D guy at all, Element is the first plugin to get me thinking about creating my own 3D assets.

I’ve got a simple NURBS extrude from C4D that I’ve textured and saved as a .c4d file. My problem is it doesn’t import into element, there’s no preview and there’s no data information either. What could I be missing to make this work?

This is the file I’m using: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ixtml1eqsehag ... rkpath.c4d

Any ideas appreciated

You need to make the object editable first. Select it and press C
The reset button was my idea.

Thanks! That did the trick.

However, it doesn't seem to work consistently. I've tried other objects but it doesn't work.

Is there a particular order I need to do this in?

I import workpath > NURBS extrude > add texture > hit 'c' to make editable.

Hey! Make sure you've got the the "save polygons for melange" switch checked in the c4d preferences. This makes it so Element has more access to the file information. Sometime is does help to make things editable first to though. This file loaded seemed to load fine for me in Element. Sweet logo btw!

at BeckMotion.com/blog

Hope it helps
