Running element on macbook pro

Postby bahgoogen on 07/12/2012, 9:40 am

hey,

anyone been running Element 3D on a Macbook Pro, Mid 2009, 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB... or any similar specs??

would love to purchase the whole bundle, but i have no idea if its going to work or not! and how well!?

Video Copilot, any chance of a demo license even for 24 hours? just so we can see how it performs?

keep up the good work!

I'm willing to bet your aren't running Mac osx 10.6+?
The reset button was my idea.

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro, 2.7GHz i7, 4GB RAM, Intel HD 3000 graphics. Can anyone tell me if Element will run with this processor, given that it is not Nvidia or ATI but integrated instead? Thanks for any help you guys can offer. Really stoked about the power of this plugin.

E3D runs on .....

Current System:
MacBookPro 4,1
Processor 2,6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRam
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT:

Chipsatz-Modell: GeForce 8600M GT
Typ: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe-Lane-Breite: x4
VRAM (gesamt): 512 MB

Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8
After Effects CS4

It´s not as fast as in the VC-Demos (in other words -> it is slow), but it works.

Hi,

It seems to run quite well even on systems in the "Limisted" category:
MacBook Pro (MacBookPro5,1)
Intel Core 2 Duo @2.4GHz
4 GB memory
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT (256MB VRAM only)

And I did this with it: http://vimeo.com/45960683
Only a quick and dirty job, but I was impressed how relatively well Element performed under these limited circumstances. There were some occasional crashes together with OpticalFlares when repositioning the 3D light, but nothing too serious. NOTE: I couldn't work with a full HD comp (probably due to the 256MB VRAM), 720p was OK.

On my main computer (MacPro with a ATI Radeon 3870/512MB VRAM, category "Okay") it performs very well for what I tried so far.

A really great product, thank you guys from VideoCopilot! :)

Greetings, Roland
