How can I use a height map?

Postby ali farahani on 07/14/2019, 10:25 am

I wanna shading my material in element 3d with physical shaders but i can't find any height map option . Usually every PBR texture need a height map to adjust the height of the dipped and high points. How can I fix that without this option in element 3d?

For Example in this screen shot attached you can see I use Diffuse, Glossiness, Reflection and Normal map but without a Height map this material has been very flat.

I believe height maps are used for actual displacement of geometry, which Element 3D doesn’t do. It would be great when (if) VC releases an update the new version would have such a feature. E3d can already deform meshes, so why not do displacement?

If a new version of Element 3D does ever come out, I’d also like to see material slots based on a PBR Metalness workflow instead of just PBR Specular.
