Extrude mask is missing

Postby stefancargoski on 07/12/2019, 11:43 pm

Hi Forum.

I've come across a problem, I have a mask in my AE composition, and when its extruded in Element, a portion of it is missing. In the layers
panel the mask is seen having all 4 sides, but once I'm in Element, its missing a chunk of it. What's the reason for this?

Thank you.

That's odd. I just tried creating the same kind of shape with 4 vertices, etc. and extruded. The result was the same as the mask layer in my composition. Have you tried recreating the mask and trying again? Are you using the default settings in Element? It looks like there is some sort of vertex anomaly going on, like the bezier parameters changed.

If the problem is repeatable, then I recommend sending an email to tech support and send the file.

Hi thanks for the reply.

I recreated it in Illustrator again same result, I also auto traced it in AE same result. I also made the same shape using pen tool in AE, again same result
my extruded object was botched., and it would not fix no matter what I did. (I knew how to find the solution, but I couldn't understand what was causing this)...

So in the end, I just duplicated my extruded model which was on group one, and then pasted it on group two just so I can continue with my project practice... But extremely odd behaviour from Element3D I must say.

Kind regards.
