Creating a coin with front- side and back textures

Postby MarMel on 02/18/2019, 7:28 am

Hi, I'm struggling with creating a kind of 'coin' that has a separate front, side and back image. For some reason the back image keeps facing the wrong direction even when I rotate it 180 degrees. I tried UV mapping, box mapping but none of these give the right result. I split up my object in a separate front disc, a side part and a duplicate of the front disc for the backside. I'm doing something wrong but I have no idea what... I started with a simple cylinder but that did not give me the option for 3 different textures. Thanks for your support!

Hello MarMel,

it should be easy to create the coin with a separate 3d program, like Blender or C4D Lite (it's in Aftereffects).
- Create your coin, apply UVW coordinates
- select the faces you need and apply a new material (e.g. front)
- select other faces for back and circ. and apply to each another material

Try my simple c4d-object, import this into E3D.
