Add Smoke Comp to E3D City

Postby mnarlock on 11/6/2018, 12:41 pm

I've created a city using Element3D and want to add a column of smoke. I've created the column in another comp. Is there a way to take this comp and "insert" it into the city?

You can bring the comp in to the main comp, turn it into a 3D layer. Generate a 3D position null in Element for the location you want to add the smoke at and shift-parent the layer to it. Duplicate E3D layer and set it to world position pass. Use that as track matte to composite the smoke layer. Adjust wpp matte for suitable depth.
