Trying to Animate an Object at Two Different Anchor Points

Postby fawnsharley on 12/26/2016, 3:36 pm

Hi guys, hopefully you can help me. I'm pretty new to Element 3D and After Effects in general and I've found myself stuck.

Essentially, I'm trying to animate a logo that I extruded in Element, which is shaped like a flat round disc. What I want the object to do is roll across a plane, like a wheel, and then fall over backwards. The problem I'm having is that in order to get the object to roll across a surface, I have to set the anchor point in the center and rotate around it. And then in order for it to fall over, I have to set the anchor point at the bottom. From what I can tell, I can't animate the anchor point. So what am I to do? I am using an Auxiliary Transform Channel to animate this, if that's helpful at all. If anyone could offer me some assistance, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Also, super bonus points if you have any idea how to get it to fall over and do that spin/wobble thing that coins do after they're spun and they're settling onto a surface. Like this:
