Help with faux 3D

I did a little research and came up with this attempt at 3d in after effects but I have a slight problem.

I can't seem to get the 3D object to cast shadows on the background.
I have attached the project file for you to see. Any help would be appreciated.

Since this is a question I moved it to AE.
And like nottaFinga said, you need to set your video to public so people can view it.
The reset button was my idea.

Do you have solids layer properties set to accept shadows and the text to cast shadows?

The solids accept shadows but the text layer doesn't cast shadows cause it's turned off and is only used as a map for the shatter effect to generate the 3D. (check the project file)

I can't find any options for the shatter effect to cast shadows though.

Although I haven't tried,I don't think the text layer will cast shadows if it's switched off.

Also I want a shadow of the 3D object not just the text. What I mean is I want the shadows of forground 3D models to fall on background 3D models if I were to put the ligth and the camera at the side of the text.
I also want the shadows to be dynamic and move with the lights.
If this can't be achieved in AE then I will just cast a faux shadow on the back walls.

Don't switch the text layer off....set it's Cast Shadows property to "Only". Not exactly what you're looking for but possibly a step in the right direction.

Thanks. It's better than nothing and I guess most people wouldn't notice the difference anyway.
