So I thought Particular and Trapcode suite were the best plugins to create particle animations in AE.
But this new music video features impressive shots created with Stardust, and now I wonder if Particular is truly the undisputed best in it's field:



I hear that the modular UI in Stardust allows more possibilities than with Particular...
Stardust can also import and handle 3D objects (with texturing + lighting options and all) as particles , emitters, or even standalone objects interacting with particles. Finally, it also features physics simulation and physical attributes to the particles…
It’s actually quite mind-blowing…

Do any of you guys have experience with both plugins, and what are your thoughts ?

They both do stuff the other one can't do. Particular does fluid simulations and is a bit more stable and AE-friendly. Stardust is very much it's own UI and paradigm, but it can do dynamic simulations.
