guess how it's made?
Hi people,
don't know if I'm in the correct section.. I'm kind of new to video.
I'm trying to figure out which kind of technique(s) is used to create this effect (especially between ca. 2m30s - 3m)

I don't aspire to replicate it, just looking for useful pointers to start understanding and maybe experimenting
any ideas?
thanks,
dopo

Its nicely done and enhanced with sound effects. i would guess its displacement maps or the liquify tool used with someone who has had lots of practice with it. the end results reminds me of the content-aware fill in photoshop. Its a shame the mountains never actually form anything but for what it is it has been done well

This effect can be achieved by using pixel motion frame blend between images. I have done it with faces to a very scary result
