Element : Making a 3d text that only has the outline stroke

Postby aminator101 on 12/6/2018, 4:09 am

Hi

I am new to element but have been using After effects for a while. I'm using the latest software.
I'm trying to create my font as a 3d which I have found easy enough using extrude however I would like to know whether I can make the entire shape transparent with only the stroke as the outline. I am finding that that the extruded side is always a block. Is it possible to make this transparent also?

If you just need an outline, don't use Element, just turn the layer into 3D and you're done. If you need two outlined copies of the edges, copy the layer and push the copy back in z space.

Hi, have only one Bevel on your letters. In your Scene panel/Group Folder/ Extrusion Model select Bevel 1. In the Edit panel enable Bevel Outline, you can now set the size etc.
