How this intro is made???

Postby ProyectoGadget on 04/18/2018, 4:12 pm

Hi,

I'm wondering how the previous DC Comics intro is made. The video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFZ1WRVoaAQ
The most interesting it's from the beginning til 0:04. I'm wondering how the effect of the light across the holes is made. Start to think this can not made with AE, but with any other programa like C4D, but with which technique??

Thanks a lot

You could do a basic variant using a light plugin from red giant but realistically no.

This could honestly be made by instancing several shape layers in AE and then using a fast blur to make the volumetric lights. Add transparency mode of choice to have the light transparent. Animate the scale and offset the layers in the time line.

On a side note, you'll need to add a bevel and emboss to get the rims of the circle to have their own shading. Feel free to set up a light in the comp and have the bevel and emboss tied to comp lights. Offset circles in 3d space to create the illusion that the bevel has depth.

Looks a lot like Shine from Trapcode. I'm sure you can create similiar effect with it. Also, have you seen this tutorial? https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/ ... ight_rays/

You people need to explore after effects more...you can make the light hole using Optical flares plugin based on a lumanince value on ad adjustment layer...then start drawing circles

Well there's an important distinction to make here, the plugin and the program. No reason to suggest exploring the program when it's a third-party plugin that is going be used to re-create a specific effect.
