Errors w/After Effects 2020 + Optical Flares + Media Encoder

Postby pixelthree on 04/28/2020, 3:08 pm

In AE 2020 (I've tried on both Mac and Windows) simply by having Optical Flares (1.3.3) applied in a project (even turned off and not in render comp) causes Media Encoder to give the following error when trying to export:
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.

Steps to reproduce:
1. In AE 2020, add Optical Flares to a comp.
2. Add to render queue, then "Queue in AME"
3. Try to render, and it will fail.

AE 2019 does not have this problem, and I'm using the same OF plugin files. And again, I'm also having the same issue on a Mac, also running AE 2020 (17.6).

Apologies is this is a known issue. I searched a good amount before posting.

This is a known issue. According to VCP support, Adobe is looking into the bug. The current work-around is to roll back to AE v 17.5.
