Blender vs C4D

Postby Dmaroc on 01/27/2017, 7:48 pm

I can get full versions of both Blender and C4D, I'm looking to do modeling, animation, and rendering...What software would work best for a beginner to get better effects? Whats the full price of Blender?

Hi. Blender is absolutely free. Lots of people love Blender and do fantastic work with it. Personally I could not get on with it even after intense effort. For me C4D was much clearer and more intuitive (and that it connects directly with After Effects was a major plus). I hasten to add this was several years ago and Blender has, I gather, moved on a lot since then.

You cant beat free, especially if you are a complete beginner, Blender will allow you to familiarize with 3d work flow without any financial commitment. Then you can venture out if you feel you need more. Otherwise, it really comes down to workflow preference. Try them all, they all offer some sort of trial. However, and I could be mistaken, Blender may not have any of options for higher-end raytracers like vray or arnold. But C4D does.
