Creating an EMP Pulse Effect?
Anyone have any good examples from any movies you may have seen where I can get some cool ideas on how to create an EMP pulse effect? Essentially I have a weapon where it shoots out an electromagnetic disturbance that will cause jets, trains, etc to lose power and everything in a certain radius.
I saw a scene in the 2014 Godzilla movie where one of the creatures has that power but just curious if anyone knows of any other examples?

Pacific Rim has a scene with one.
I'm pretty sure every Batman movie has a scene with one too.
Transformers (first one I think) has one as well, the flying transformer takes out all their electronics on the ground.

Ring of smoke: particular could work or stock footage even possible motion pulse.
Dome: 3d object possibility with fractal noise as a custom texture. Or just take a fractal noise and cc world and split it in half.
Lighting, flares, distortion maps etc. You got yourself something

That Transformers clip, there's just so much in there that makes no sense whatsoever, like the hologram pilot has an underlying robot model/texture or that the EMP smashes Windows, etc...
But yeah, the EMP thingy is still an awesome effect.

No I didn't, but I will now, using masks and color.
Stu's commentary about the Transformers CC is so much fun to watch...
