Hows is this 2d stuff done

Postby emoaxel on 03/11/2016, 5:34 pm

Hi i relativly simple thing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN5d5HNphU8

How is the motion achieved with the skull and wording, I'm guessing there really flat and just png's so how would i animate them in the same stuff and add a effect like a glow ?

Also if i was to add a glow effect to something how would i make that glow modulate to a audio file ?

thanks

Looks like motion in 3d space, possibly start with a wiggle but it also looks like some flex so perhaps some warping of the image too. Sound keys to attach a property to a music track.

Why not just a cool 3D skull made with Element 3D. I mean, if you gonna add something that looks 3D, you might as well use ACTUAL 3D. Anyway, just my 2 cents. As for the effect, it's just a 3D layer, the camera can be animated in 1 of 2 ways. One being parenting it to a null and use a wiggle expression on said null's rotation so the camera pivots around it (perfect if you want it to orbit around the skull) or the other one, being adding that wiggle expression directly to the orientation of the camera, which will make the movements of the skull a bit more chaotic. The tempo of the wiggle expression should be very low, like 0.1-0.5 secs or less.
Now parenting ANYTHING to the sound, Andrew made a tutorial about that here: http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/a ... animation/ just copy-paste the keyword info from the audio to whatever element you want, use a damping expression if you need to, if the values are too big and you are all set...
