After searching everywhere online possible for a tutorial, and coming up empty handed i was wondering if anyone knows how to make this "made of fire" manipulation effect possible in after effects. I need to know this for an upcoming music video so any help or info is much appreciated the sooner the better. Thanks

I'm assuming you want to create a fire effect on the actual band members, not on a skeleton? or are you wanting it to look like the picture?

For more realism, fluid sim in a 3D package like Blender is your best bet. To do that you need to key your footage and trace the alpha and extrude it, then use that as a fuel source for the simulation.

Asking if something isn't possible in After Effects is kind of a trick question, anything is possible - but if we're talking about automation, using plugins and filters (not hand drawing every frame), I would say it's really tricky to achive the quality of the pictures you posted a few posts back.

With that said, there's a lot of tricks you can use, you can use real fire elements with a particle system, Trapcode Form can create some fire-like effects from footage using them as maps for various functions, Trapcode Particular can also be used - and you can use a combination of them to get something new... You can also create motion vectors from your footage to drive these setups, you have that in the last video...
