Kwabs "Walk" Music video effect

Postby rayspirit on 04/8/2015, 3:36 am

Hi VCP guys i wrote this topic cause i've seen a nice music video, of a song called "walk" by kwabs, and i wish to learn how this effect are made (i mean the "sticked to face" camera) other stuffs are just a simple motion graphic. but i'm interested in this "camera" effect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW9uj83Vq-0 this effect spots in almost all the clip, but the most evident part is from 1:20

Thank you! guys ;)

If you watch the tutorials here:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0rPuE ... wJQBMoHYRg

It will give you one option of how you can do it. This may or may not be how they did it, but you cold duplicate the effects using the processes described in some of these guy's videos. (Keep in mind none of the videos show EXACTLY how to do it , but rather the combined skills in several of the videos would work.)

Hi. It may be simply that he is stabilized - so his very up and down movement is transfered to the background while he remains in the same place?

Well i don't know, your thinking is pretty right. i've seen this effect before, and have a specific name, but i don't remember what is >-|| i remember just that is a kind of simulation of a particular camera rig.

If it's the one I'm familiar with then, yes, there is a rig that is attached directly to the performers body - it predates the selfie-stick idea, though for video. I don't think a rig is used in the clip as the escalator sequence segues seamlessly between him static and that bouncy walk he does.

OK i've found it! :D this rig it's called "Snorricam" and for this video the used technique it's pretty a "fake" version of the snorricam's rig. easely done with after effects. here is the link of tutorial, if anyone else is interested! http://cgi.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-fake-the-snorricam-effect--ae-19633

BTW thank you for your time and answers :)
