Hidden Wall - How can this be done?

Postby paleface on 01/19/2015, 3:10 pm

Hello,

I would like to know how this effect can be achieved. Would you like to tell me?
A person is being stopped by a wall that cannot be seen in the picture but is there and behaves just like a wall out of glass, even touching it leaves marks on hand surfaces.

Theoretically you could have them using a green painted wall but also film a back plate to replace it after the key. This would work for the side shot but the front would be more complicated.

yes, the front is more complicated and we're thinking about a real glass big enough to cover the viewing angle for the front shot, but this would be too expensive and heavy to transport.
Any more suggestions?

Hi. Green screen behind any suitably large piece of glass - store window, glass panel of a building etc.?

To save on a budget, you can use a green or blue wall and rotoscope around his hand and put a clean plate there in place of the green wall. That will work for the side. But the front angle is where you would either have to use glass, or have a really good actor who can sell that hit.
VFX isn't everything... It's the only thing!
