lensdistortion question

Postby vfxbeginner on 01/17/2015, 8:18 am

Hi,

Any nuke people in here?

have a question about the lens distortion. In the past when I did an undistort on the plate I always got an overshoot (the plate becomes bigger). I would then calculate a over scan resolution for rendering my cgi and then reapply the distortion.

with his plate I don't get an overshoot... the distortion goes negative, it shrinks my plate instead of making it bigger. does the process stays the same when I redistort my images? first time I have this so im not sure. thank you

It doesn't matter what way the distortion is, you undistort, track and integrate with the plate, then redistort. :)
