Blur Portion of Comp

Postby tjm007 on 04/12/2009, 9:26 am

Good morning,

Forgive me if this question is asked elsewhere. I looked and couldn't find it, although it is possible I'm just too new to the terminology to know what I was looking at.

What I want to do is create a split circle like used to be viable when looking through an old manual SLR camera. I can make the circle, but I was to split it and have one half of the inside of the circle blurred and the other normal.

Does that make sense?

I've tried doing it with a mask, but that didn't seem to work right, or went beyond the circle.

Any help would be appreciated.

best way would be to put the blur on an adjustment layer then mask the adjustment layer.
After Effects hates my ram :(

That was perfect. After much trial and mostly error, I've gotten exactly what i have hoping for. Thank you.
