CC Particle World: How to make it do what I want

What I want is an explosion of particles out from the center of the comp on just the X and Y axes, while remaining basically flat on the Z axis. I don't want any particles that appear "larger" than the others because they're closer to the camera. I've already set the producer to have a radius Z of 0, which only helps slightly. I'm using the explosion animation because it seems to be closest to what I want. Any way to get it flat on the Z axis?

Not sure you can achieve it with Explosive setting. Are you sure you can't reproduce the look you're after by using other Animation setting? Jet Sideways for example?

I'm messing around with all the settings...if I can get "jet sideways" to jet in all directions X and Y, that'll be what I want, but I haven't worked out how. I suppose I could use several instances of jet sideways...

Not sure where it is, but you can switch your camera from perspective to orthographic. I believe that will give you the effect you want.

Well, I can get pretty close using the 200mm preset...this may work for what i want, I can just render this off and use it in my comp. Was really just trying to avoid big particles...
