The Ring

Postby gdiakom on 03/4/2009, 6:12 am

Hey guys! Just finished doing Andrew's last tutorial, "The Ring". Everything came out perfect except after I saved my project, when re-opening it, there are particles now eminating from the middle of the ring as well. How do I get rid of those?

How strange?? :?

So you say you rendered it out and everything was fine?

Can you tell me...

Is your particular layer still parented to the null object?

Does your null still rotate around the ring?

Do you have particles emitting from only the centre or the centre and around the ring?

regards

The whole sequence is exactly the way it's supposed to be except now I have those extra particles in the middle. Very annoying.

I got it Thurman. I just deleted the extra Particle layer I had. Thanks for your super quick response anyway!

Happened to me when i was doing the tut too. What happened was the parenting of the expression went whack i think when i was trying to use the slider control. Just back track and re apply the expression and it will parent it back to the null again. That extra particle layer is there for a reason i would assume....

I get this same problem a lot with particular. When I'm doing a really complicated project (I.e. Lots of particles) sometimes the expressions will randomly disable themselves (the equals sign is crossed out). This happened quite a bit on the ring tutorial, causing the particles to no longer follow the circle and just go to the middle. I think it's just a computer speed issue.
