Trapcode People Alternatives

Postby JMDesign on 09/22/2008, 2:47 pm

Hey,
Has anyone found an online community that holds Trapcode presets? Trapcode People was a great resource and I was wondering if there was a subsequent alternative. Thanks.

Trapcode people disappeared before I found it. And I haven't found anything like it yet... If that makes sense. :?
The reset button was my idea.

Good topic. It was an awesome site before the spambots destroyed it and it got taken down. I'd love to find an alternative too.

I archived some of the AE presets. Did anyone else? Maybe I should start my own community and people could contribute again.

Jeff,

Please add these to your website too. These are the ones I managed to salvage before the site went down.

Spambots got into the site and started uploading bogus content and comments. The site got so overrun that no one uploaded real content anymore. I also heard that the whole system crashed and all the files were lost.

Well according to the owner, spambots loaded the owner with emails so he changed his email.
The host then sent an email stating that they were trying to apply a charge to their account and it wouldnt go through. If they didnt answer the email they would assume its no longer needed and that they would then wipe the info from the server.

So as the owner changed email, the host sent it to the old email and he never got it. Hence the lot was lost with no backup and the story ends...

R.I.P. trapcode-people.net

2005-2008

I am very sad to inform you that trapcode-people.net went off-line. It appears the hosting company could not charge Trapcode's account and instead of contacting us they simply wiped the server. In their defence I had changed my e-mail because of spam. It is very sad but I promise to make a new much better site for all you people who generously want to share knowledge.

This looks like a good idea.

I'd be willing to sponsor the cost for the domain name(and maybe the hosting too if it isn't too much).

Codetrappers.com or something like that

we would only need some coders and some designer, shouldn't be hard in a place like this I guess.
