In your country? :D

I diploma and/or degree say's shit in this business, unless it's a masters degree from a university. The problem is, looking at something like editing, you could easily get an A+ just doing everything "right" - but still be an absolutely crap editor - so it really doesn't say anything. You need to show your talent.

I would propose what you need is a reel and some endorsements on your skills on LinkedIn - that is way more in line with how things work nowadays. Personally I use Vimeo and it's a great community for self promotion and for getting a lot of feedback on your work as well as networking within the creative community. I also connect a lot within the VFX community on Twitter. Then I use LinkedIn to connect with the people I've gotten to know. In just a couple of years, I have 800+ subscribers on Vimeo and connected to top VFX artists out on every high end studio in the world.

Now imagine I would want to work in Hollywood, doing VFX, which is more likely to get me the job, the above or my 25 year old engineer's degree? ;)

Hehe, I meant that as agreeing with you, not that you were rude. ;)

What are my chances to get a digital diploma in VFX abroad? I hear they have tuition free programs for international students.

If you want to get a Digital Visual Effects diploma abroad, you may consider these universities:
    Nanyang Polytechnic
    Capilano University
    Centennial College

The last two are in Canada. Btw, Gnomon has VFX online courses.
