How can I achieve this in Element 3D

Postby preamp on 01/18/2017, 4:38 pm

Firstly sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

I am wondering if someone can help me with this. I am trying to do some lighting, skin and generally work with some character models in Element 3D, but sadly the results just arent what I expected, which is unusual for Element 3D because I usually get some great results. This is my first time using Element for character models.

So here is the first one - its made in Maya, you can see the skin etc is reacting ok with the lights and the materials are looking good but not great

And this is the one where I used Element 3D. The results are noticeable straight away. I was hoping to get the same result or better as I did using Maya. Does anyone have any tips as to how I might achieve the same look?

The sad in element is more pseudo than genuine. To sell the skin you should fine detail the normal maps, and continue post processing with world position pass to spot treat certain portions to draw detail.

May I ask why you want to do it in element if you already have it looking good in Maya?
