That's pretty sick man! I like it alot :) My only recommendation would be - just to see how it looks - to move the layer with the guy a little farther forward so the depth is more noticeable. The first time I watched it, I thought it was flush with the rest of it. Only after the second time did I noticed it was a little closer to the camera. So yeah, just a thought :D As far as believability goes, I thought it was spot on!

thanks, im looking to do some sci-fi stuff later this year and may include a more detailed version of that effect

really nice! If you do a more detailed version, you can move the man out further (like jack said) and then add some light effects from the panel to the man so it looks like it is being projected.

The effect is fine as is too. ;)

yeah it was more noticable before the youtube compression but unfortunately the original files for it got killed in my HD crash, at the moment im working on some projects that are listed on my website. then after that im going to make a sci-fi saving private ryan meets swat with either a group of stormtroopers or some customer made sci fi soldiers
