3DS Max and the Meteor Crash tutorial
Please forgive me if this is not the appropriate place to post a question that I have, or rather, a problem in my attempts to follow Andrew's tutorial. Nonetheless, I am getting more and more frustrated and I am hoping that you can provide some guidance.
While attempting to follow Andrew's direction and to create a particle system consisting of 1 particle starting and ending at Frame 0, I cannot see the particle in my perspective view (which is the view containing the crash site image). It appears in the front and left viewports, so I know it is there. One of the other board members (sig) posted that he was experiencing the same problem. He was able to work around the issue by producing 3 particles, rather than the 1 that Andrew instructed. This is great and all. However, I would like to know why I am unable to follow Andrew's work in the same fashion that HE is doing it in Max.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

I believe you need to turn the null to a 3d in after effects

Re: 3DS Max and the Meteor Crash tutorial
I was so hopeful and felt so stupid when Jorrit made his suggestion. Nevertheless, the same thing happens in the perspective viewport where the background image is shown. I can only see the particles when I increase the count to a minimum of 3. If I set the particle amount to 1 or 2, it doesn't appear.
Is it possibly my settings? I'm getting really frustrated with this and I am ready to pack the whole damn thing in!
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: 3DS Max and the Meteor Crash tutorial
why worry about it? it's there doing its job just continue the tutorial. use the other viewports to line-it-up
but i think the problem is in the display settings for particle system change it to dots or something change the color like AK said
if you really need to see it...
I did this having your same problem
