hey there.

i just watched the transformers movie, and i kept thinkin thru the whole movie, are those really transforming or is there a trick ?

how did they model a car that can transform into a huge robot ?

They didn't. It is a trick and I know the VFX people admitted it.
Elements merge, slide and transform so they look like they are the same components, but they are not.

I usually try not to talk down people's work but if you look at the demo video for that DVD you can see how poorly it's animated. Not something i'd recommend, if you're going to pay to learn something it should be explained correctly. 3DPalace is supposed to be working on a DVD, you'll probably be much better off waiting for it.
