Bursting trough clouds Element3D

Postby Velocity9 on 02/18/2019, 6:57 am

Is there a way to do this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDSP7A2UiGU in after effects with an Element3D obj?
Tried this in particular, not getting the right look. Is it possible to get a plugin like TurbulenceFD in Element3D?
Trying to make scene where a spaceship burst through clouds and disperses some mist from the clouds!

Might be faster to get a piece of stock footage of real or simulated smoke that looks how you want and composite it over the clouds?

I wish there was a plugin like fumefx that would work with Adobe after effects and by extension elementd3D. Particular does not interact with 3D obj fully!

You can use E3D world position pass to hide Particular particles in depth so that they appear to be in the same 3D space. It's pretty much the closest you can get to this in AE, and the best approach if you don't want to simulate in a different program.

Stardust can put the 3D objects and particles in the same 3D space but it doesn't have smoke simulation, so you'd have to fake it with force fields.
